Surah Name: Az-Zumar Meaning: The Troops

Afaman sharaha Allahu sadrahu lilislami fahuwa AAala noorin min rabbihi fawaylun lilqasiyati quloobuhum min thikri Allahi olaika fee dalalin mubeen(in) Shall he then whose breast Allah-SWT has expanded for Islam, so that he follows a light from his Rabb-SWT be as he whose heart is hardened? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened against Allah-SWT ’s Zikr. They are in error manifest. (39:22) |

Allahu nazzala ahsana alhadeethi kitaban mutashabihan mathaniya taqshaAAirru minhu juloodu allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum thumma taleenu julooduhum waquloobuhum ila thikri Allahi thalika huda Allahi yahdee bihi man yashao waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min had(in) Allah-SWT has revealed the most excellent discourse, a Book consimilar, off-repeated, at which trembles the skins of those who fear their Rabb-SWT; then their skins and hearts soften to Allaah-SWT ’s Zikr. This is Allah-SWT's guidance to which He-SWT guides whom He-SWT will; and whom Allaah-SWT sends astray, for him there is no guide (39:23) |

Afaman yattaqee biwajhihi sooa alAAathabi yawma alqiyamati waqeela li(l)ththalimeena thooqoo ma kuntum taksiboon(a) Is he, then who will shield himself with his face from the evils of torment on the Day of Resurrection be as he who is secure therefrom? And it will be said to the ungodly: taste what you have been earning. (39:24) |

كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَاهُمْ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ Kaththaba allatheena min qablihim faatahumu alAAathabu min haythu la yashAAuroon(a) Those who belied before them, on them came the torment from whence they knew not. (39:25) |
Faathaqahumu Allahu alkhizya fee alhayati a(l)ddunya walaAAathabu alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoon(a) Allah-SWT made them taste humiliation in this world; and surely the torment of the Hereafter is greater-if they but know. (39:26) |

وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ Walaqad darabna li(l)nnasi fee hatha alqurani min kulli mathalin laAAallahum yatathakkaroon(a) And assuredly We-SWT propounded in this Quran every manner of similitudes for mankind that perhaps they may reflect (39:27) |

قُرآنًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِي عِوَجٍ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ Quranan AAarabiyyan ghayra thee AAiwajin laAAallahum yattaqoon(a) An Arabic Quran, without any crookedness, that perhaps they may fear. (39:28) |

Daraba Allahu mathalan rajulan feehi shurakao mutashakisoona warajulan salaman lirajulin hal yastawiyani mathalan alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoon(a) Allah-SWT propounds a similitude: A man has several partners quarrelling, and a man belonging to one man. Are the two equal in likeness? But most of them know not. (39:29) |

إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ Innaka mayyitun wainnahum mayyitoon(a) Verily you are mortal and they are mortals. (39:30) |

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ Thumma innakum yawma alqiyamati AAinda rabbikum takhtasimoon(a) Then on the Day of Resurrection you shall be contending before your Rabb-SWT . (39:31) |
